Silhouette Instalift is an FDA-approved non-surgical procedure that can treat signs of aging, including sagging facial skin and jowl creases, and a sagging jawline. Using absorbable sutures with bidirectional cones made from polymers, the skin can be repositioned and lifted without the need for more a more invasive surgical facelift. Over time, as the sutures dissolve, the steady regeneration of collagen restores the supple volume of youthful skin.
Once the areas to be treated have been identified, Dr. Gill will use a fine needle to make small punctures in the skin. This will enable the sutures to be placed in multi-directional positions. This positioning will allow the bi-directional cones to be threaded, lifting and relocating the skin along the targeted areas. In time, the sutures will dissolve and stimulate the production of collagen. The Silhouette Instalift is a non-surgical procedure and will only require a local anesthetic.
If you are looking for a non-surgical facelift that can provide results that restore your skin’s once youthful firmness, the Silhouette Instalift is an excellent choice for both men and women. Ideally, you should have normal skin thickness. Since the Silhouette Instalift sutures reside in the fat layer of the skin, patients with thinner skin may not be good candidates. Younger patients who are looking to delay early signs of aging could benefit from these natural rejuvenation results as well.
Silhouette Instalift sutures are made from a biodegradable polymer that has been used for many years in medical devices. The sutures are safe and well tolerated by the body. The bi-directional cones on the sutures provide fixation points and are what allows Dr. Gill to reposition and lift the deeper layers of skin to naturally restore the curves of your face.
The needle used in a Silhouette Instalift is tiny and will only leave a dot where it breaks the surface of the skin. Since the sutures are placed and threaded under the skin, there will be no noticeable scarring, and any blemishes caused by the needle will fade in time.
One of the benefits of a non-surgical procedure is the ability to resume regular activities more quickly. Each patient’s experience can be different, but you can expect to feel mild discomfort, swelling or bruising for 24 to 48 hours. You should refrain from more intense activities including heavy lifting for at least two weeks to allow the sutures to integrate fully.
The results are immediate with a Silhouette Instalift. Once the threads are put in place, patients can see the lifting effect right away. Over the next three to six months, results will continue to improve.
Non-surgical procedures like the Silhouette Instalift can slow the effect of aging, but unfortunately, they can’t stop it forever, as gravity and aging take a toll. Typically, most patients can enjoy their rejuvenated look for 18 months to two years. Many factors can play a role in how long your Instalift will last. Proper hydration, a good skincare regimen and the use of a UV sunblock will also help keep your skin looking its best.
